What are the advantages and disadvantages of galvanized pipe?
Advantage:
1) Anti-rust

The galvanizing process is generally less costly than other commonly used pipe protection methods. This is because other methods tend to be labor-intensive, and galvanizing requires less physical labor. At the same time, galvanized steel pipes have a long service life. Sustains more than 50 years in many rural areas and more than 25 years in heavily exposed urban and coastal environments. Therefore, less maintenance costs are required.
3) Easy to check
The inspection process for galvanized pipes is straightforward. The galvanized layer can be inspected with the naked eye, and the thickness can be inspected by a simple non-destructive method.
Shortcoming:
1) Internal corrosion
While the zinc barrier in galvanized pipe does prevent rust for a certain period of time, after a long period of time it will eventually rust. When this happens, the pipe begins to corrode from the inside out, which can eventually lead to a leak or rupture of the pipe.
2) Water pollution
When galvanized pipes begin to corrode, corrosive materials and lead from the exposed metal can seep into your water system. When this happens, these minerals begin to form a plaque that coats the inside of your pipes. Over time, this plaque begins to restrict the flow of water in your home. Water can even change its color.
