What is the difference between hot dip galvanized pipe and pre-galvanized pipe?

Pre-galvanized steel tube is a steel tube that is galvanized a steel strip before it is formed and welded into a tube, but pre-galvanized pipe are processed with galvanized steel strip for one-time forming, and the anti-corrosion time is not as long as that of hot-dip galvanizing, therefore, it is used indoors or in dry places.

Hot-dip galvanized pipe is processed from black pipes, then go to galvanizing. After a high temperature of 1000 degrees, generally thin wall thicknesses are not hot-dip galvanized.Hold superior corrosion resistance strength.

As making a protective coating for the steel and metals in the main object of the galvanizing process, the hot-dipped galvanization produces a thicker layer of protection than the pre-galvanization does. The minimum average thickness of hot-dip galvanized steel is of 45-85μm while it is between 20 and 30 μm for the pre-galvanized products’.

One of the advantages which pre-galvanized steel has over hot dip galvanized steel is that it has a better appearance.pre-galvanized materials are used for a wide variety of products including conduit, lip and open channels.

One advantage of hot dip galvanizing is that the entire part is covered including the edges, welds, etc. giving it an all-round corrosion protection. The end product can be used outdoors in all different weather conditions. It is the most popular galvanizing method and is widely used in the construction industry.
